Your player will arrive pre-configured for your venue. Just plug it in to your network and audio system and Soundsuit music will be playing instantly.
Designed to save space and bandwidth, the Soundsuit Media Player is the size of a router and light on your Internet network performance.
Never worry about an employee messing up with your music settings or schedule. The Soundsuit Media Player is button free and tamper-proof.
The Sounduit Player is equipped with a SD card, where a fallback playlist is stored. If your internet drops (for seconds or hours), the Soundsuit player switches automatically to the off-line mode, and keeps playing.
Network requirements.
Wired setup
The Soundsuit HW-Player requires an Ethernet cable to be connected to the Internet.
Bandwidth
The HW-Player needs a very minimum of 50 Mbps, but a 100 Mbps connection is recommended.
Dedicated connection
The HW-Player requires a dedicated internet connection (i.e. it cannot work with an internet connection that is shared with your customers).
Prioritization of device
The HW-Player requires to be set a preferred device in the Quality of Service (QoS) of your router to get higher priority when using the bandwidth.
Firewall requirements.
Our Soundsuit Players are delivered fully configured as Plug&Play solutions and are therefore ready for use immediately after connection to the audio system and the Internet. Depending on the internal infrastructure, you may only have to set up your firewall accordingly. Connections via port 80 must be allowed.
Our standard MAC address for the player: 00:11:28:0X:XX:XX
In your specific installation case, the X:XX:XX must be replaced by the serial number of the individual player. Example: The MAC address using for instance the serial number A8968 will have the following Mac address: 00:11:28:0A:B9:68
In order for the player to function correctly on networks with limited access to incoming and outgoing traffic (through a router or when using firewalls), traffic must be allowed on a few ports. In all cases, the traffic is initiated by the player (outgoing traffic) and uses raw TCP.
